NYSSLHA Awards Student Scholarship
Erin Hellwig, a senior in the Communication Disorders and Sciences Department at SUNY Fredonia was awarded a $1500 scholarship by The New York State Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NYSSLHA) at the association’s 49th annual convention in Saratoga Springs, NY.

NYSSLHA Victory on Hearing Aid Dispense Bill
Legislation (S5257 Hassell-Thompson) to allow physicians to dispense hearing aids on a for-profit basis was recently introduced in the State Senate. Two weeks after introduction of this bill, Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson “struck the enacting clause” of the legislation, effectively killing the bill.

EI Program Survives Budget Negotiations
