Licensure Regulations Go into Effect Oct 9

The State Education Department’s new regulations on education and experience for speech-language pathologists and audiologists go into effect October 9, 2008.

NYSSLHA would like to thank Larry De Mers, Executive Secretary of the Speech-language Pathology and Audiology board for his willingness to listen to the NYSSLHA board’s feedback on these regulations, as well as his service to our profession. Larry will soon be promoted to the position of Director, Professional Licensing, Office of the Professions.

In the short-term, Robert Lopez, current Executive Secretary to the Architecture and Landscape Architecture boards, will act as Interim Executive Secretary to the Speech-language Pathology and Audiology board.
