 Workshop Agenda  Workshop Agenda

Evidence-based practice in diagnosing and treating Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is difficult due to limited information regarding best practices in assessment and treatment. Megan Overby, Ph.D., CCC-SLP will review available tools and procedures to assist in the diagnosis of CAS along a continuum of severity. She will provide guidelines for selecting treatment targets, and highlight principles of motor programming therapy. Practical resources, videos, and audience suggestions will be shared during discussion of this complicated disorder.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this workshop, attendees will be able to:
·         Describe tools and procedures to assist in the differential diagnosis of Childhood Apraxia of Speech from other types of speech sound disorders;
·         Discuss treatment target selection for children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech; and
·         Explain how aspects of a motor programming treatment approach can vary across a continuum of severity for clients with Childhood Apraxia of Speech.
