NYSSLHA Convention
Tarrytown, New York
April 28-30, 2022
President’s Message
I would like to invite you to join us for our the NYSSLHA Annual Convention. Our Convention offers a chance to meet with your fellow professionals, hear the latest research and developments in our field, gather resources and gain new skills. I am so excited to have this opportunity to join together face-to-face with colleagues for this premiere professional development experience.
A great deal has changed since we last met for an in-person NYSSLHA Convention. The world is a different place. As professionals, we faced situations we couldn’t have possibly envisioned. We rose to the challenge, emerging with new skills, greater flexibility and a heightened appreciation for collaboration. We found innovative solutions allowing us to continue to meet the needs of those we serve, and we identified the areas in which we need to grow. NYSSLHA is here to partner with you as you continue your journey and Reshape the Road to Success. Your Convention Planning Committee, led by Program Chairperson Mark Caffrey, has been hard at work developing a packed schedule with dozens of offerings and outstanding presenters, as well as social activities and special events. A highlight of our Convention will be the ASHA Update presented by the 2022 ASHA President Judy Rich. If you are an undergraduate or graduate student, be sure to take note of our newly expanded student track dedicated to your specific needs. Operation co-chairs Barbara Kurman and George Paganos have partnered to bring us a spectacular exhibit hall where you can discover new products as well as network with your fellow professionals throughout the day on Friday and Saturday.
I want to extend my gratitude to our entire Convention Planning Committee, along with Deron Sferra and Melissa Joseph from Craven Management, for all of their expert skills and remarkable efforts in the planning and implementing the 2022 NYSSLHA Convention.
I look forward to seeing you in April. Be sure to stop by the President’s Reception Friday evening to say hello. Then join me for Honors and Awards as we celebrate the highest achievements, contributions, and excellence within our professional community. If your schedule allows, spend some time before or after Convention exploring beautiful Tarrytown and enjoy our close proximity to New York City.
If you haven’t done so already, please register now to secure your spot at the Convention. NYSSLHA’s goal during these rapidly changing times is to remain your professional home. Allow us to continue to be your source of inspiration, education, advocacy and community.
Warm Regards,
Amy Bergen, MS, CCC-SLP, TSHH, SBL
