COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This workshop serves to expand understanding and support strategies for school-based and clinic-based interventions for individuals with ADHD. Participants will acquire an “ADHD & Executive Function Lens" to gain competence and clarity for working confidently with the ADHD population and affected families. 


COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  1. Participants will examine how executive function deficits and ADHD influence the behaviors of children and adults utilizing current literature and case study. 

  2. Participants will understand and differentiate neurodevelopmental perspectives of ADHD from common misconceptions based on current scientific literature.

  3. Participants will apply strengths-based stategies to treatment/intervention approaches for executive function skills.


PRESENTER/BIO:

Valerie Mackiewicz, MS, AACC, CACP - Certified ADHD Coach Practitioner 

Degree/Credentials - Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, ADDCA Certified Associate ADHD Coach, PAAC Certified ADHD Coach Practitioner.


Valerie Mackiewicz is a dedicated Certified ADHD Coach Practitioner, specializing in working with adults, parents, educators, mental health providers, specialists (OT/PT/SLP), and executives/professionals. Her experience spans clinical, school, community, and business settings, allowing her to develop a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to ADHD & Executive Function support, educational training, and professional development. She is on a local and global mission to continue advancing best practices, fostering professional collaboration, and supporting individuals in all areas of ADHD and Executive Function - both for the client and their support professionals. Valerie is a WNY native and a SUNY Fredonia alum.
