SUMMARY OF NYSSLHA’S ADVOCACY EFFORTS DURING THE 2021 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
The New York State Legislature adjourned with the Senate gaveling out at 9:30pm on Thursday, June 10, and the Assembly following suit at 4am on Friday. Both houses signaled the possibility of a return later this year to address unfinished business. Provided below is a summary of NYSSLHA’s advocacy efforts during the 2021 Legislative Session.
NYSSLHA was extremely successful in advancing its Advocacy Agenda in 2021 in a number of areas. This success is due to a strong advocacy program within NYSSLHA which includes two lobby days each year as well as ongoing efforts on a day to day basis to track and influence legislative and regulatory proposals. Please let your professional friends and colleagues know about the our efforts and successes, largely due to our lobbyist firm Reed McNally & Savage—along with NYSSLHA’s Governmental Affairs Committee and Board of Directors.
