Session 1 - Legacy Summit: Charting Success Through Presidential Perspectives and Advocacies

In this special session, we bring together the distinguished leaders who have steered our organization in the past, blending their invaluable insights with a dynamic updates from NYSSLHA’s lobbyist. Join us at the “Legacy Summit” as we reflect on the achievements of the past year, gain wisdom from our former presidents and delve into the impactful advocacy work that has shaped our success. It’s a unique opportunity to conenct with the legacy of leadership and witness the collaborative spirit that propels our organization forward.
Learner Outcomes: At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe current legislation and advocacy efforts at the state level.
- Apply different leadership styles in their work environment.
- State how intrapersonal awareness, interpersonal skills and relationship building leads to an effective leadership approach.

Session 2 - Roundtable Discussions
These round table sessions will provide an opportunity for professionals to engage in dynamic roundtables to discuss important workplace issues with colleagues from across the state. We will have several roundtables to choose from including; early intervention, school setting, audiology, student resources and more. Each discussion will have a facilitator to encourage discussion points. It will be a great opportunity to share best practices, concerns and questions with colleagues in similar work settings.
Learner Outcomes: At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe concerns facing professionals in the audiology and speech pathology work setting.
- Describe best practices for assessment, treatment and documentation as it relates to the audiology and speech pathology clients/patients.
